DARRYL URANO
My name is Darryl Urano. I am a retired Police Officer with over 27 years experience Serving with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) and the Lethbridge Police Service. My most recent position I served as the Warrant Officer for the Province of Alberta, which requires significant emphasis on Professionalism of the Organization and the Performance Management of employees. My law enforcement experience has provided me with the necessary skills for working in a challenging fluid and dynamic environment. In this demanding environment my critical thinking and problem solving skills have been an immense asset. While working in various capacities I have held supervisory and leadership roles to develop and train countless numbers of law enforcement personnel throughout Canada.
I currently deliver Diversity, Hate and Bias Free Enforcement and Ethics workshops at Grant MacEwan University in Edmonton, Alberta. I have operated as an intelligence investigator, investigating organized crime groups and anti-government movements. I was a Leadership Coordinator facilitating Supervisory and Management Development Courses; I have also designed and implemented a new Functional Supervisor Course for the RCMP. I was a Tactical Member / Sniper and commander in charge of many Critical Incidents. I was in charge of the Divisional Emergency Operations Centre during the wildfires in Fort McMurray (2016) and Fort Vermillion (2019) Wildfires.
Throughout my career in the RCMP, I have obtained hands-on experience in a broad range of investigations including, homicides, fatal motor vehicle collisions, arsons, frauds, and matters involving organized crime and terrorist groups. My passion and training to conduct quality investigative interviews and interrogations has assisted me in achieving success throughout my career.
